"A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love.” –Max Muller
In a time frame of a few days Nicola and Ricky's wedding changed dramatically. The Covid-19 pandemic could not, however, stop them from exchanging eternal vows.
I remember when Attie (my hubby) called me and told me that they decided to elope. I was very sad that the day they imagined would be put on hold, but VERY GLAD that they could still promise eternal love to one another.
On the whim of the moment we drove to Newcastle, just before the South African lock-down to attend and help with the special day. Attie and I did the flowers, with some helpful advice from Blom.Online (Thank you to the lovely Moffat family) and afterwards we captured this special moment in Nicola & Ricky's life.
11 people (including Attie and myself) attended this lovely intimate affair. Some of our loved ones were duly missed. They tuned in from Cape Town and Cradock.
The elopement was lovely. The intimate atmosphere allowed us to truly experience the love they felt towards one another. Of course my two favourite moments were when my father-in-law saw Nicola and when Ricky saw her walking down the aisle with tears in his eyes.
Today would have been their wedding day and luckily the wedding will still happen in September, but I was very glad to capture their love.
In the end love is all that matters.
xx
